Appointment of Regimental Quarter-Master Sergeant William Docksey
as a
Member of the Most Excellent British Order of the British Empire

Citation
RQMS Docksey arrived in Italy as Regimental Quarter-master Serjeant of the N.I.H. in April, 1944.
He has been with the echelon throughout all the Italian fighting; the Liri valley, the Chianti bills south of Florence, the Gothic Line, the hills south of Route 9 from Coriano to Forli and the Po Valley. By his outstanding devotion to duty, throughout this long period - by his hard work, initiative and determination that no matter how difficult the circumstances everyone should always be fed and clothed, he has contributed to a large extent to the success of the Regiment in all these various operations until final victory.
Apart from this, RQMS Docksey has been with the Regiment since its inception, being one of the Regular Training Cadre posted in December, 1939. It was through his hard work and organizing ability that the Technical aide of the Regiment was started on a firm foundation. From there he became SSM of B Squadron and fought with them in North Africa, being Mentioned in Despatches. This Warrant Officer has always given service far in excess of his duty and his ability, integrity and efficiency are reflected in the respect with which he is held by all ranks.
