Appointment of Major Walter William Graham Lavery
as a
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire
Citation
Major Lavery has been in command of Headquarters Squadron for two years. During the advance from the Senio to the Adige he handled his squadron and all the regimental supplies with great skill and in spite of all difficulties never failed to get the supplies up in time.
Both in and out of the line he has worked exceptionally hard and conscientiously in his exacting and unspectacular job. Without his unceasing work and his devotion to duty the Regiment could NOT have achieved the success that it did.
Transcribed from a copy of Army Form making the recommendation.
