The tree-lined road from Medjez-el-Bab. across the mouth of the Medjerda Valley, runs due east, for one-third of its length, before turning south-east to join the Goubellat/Tunis Road.
The photograph shows a Churchill of 51st. Bn. Royal Tank Regiment travelling towards Medjez-el-Bab. Behind the trees can be seen the north-western edge of Banana Ridge, in front of which the Royal Artillery had sited their 25-pdrs. In the distance are the trees lining the road where the NIH tanks sat camouflaged.
