  • Information in this article, gleaned from several sources, is authenticated by photographic evidence and/or reliable sources. When it is not, having no guarantee as to its accuracy, it is so noted.

  • As the positioning and colour of insignia was standardised by the Royal Armoured Corps in 1942, the information shown for the Mediterranean Theatre is not replicated in the European section.

  • Recognising that some may build a model on a tank (named after a particular town, ship, et cetera) lacking an authenticated WD Number, a fictitious one could be used, providing it is not one listed hereafter.

  • Due to errors in their content, the following three books have not been used for authentication purposes.
