The following secret report (No. 7272) was made on 25/8
by Dept. H.R.D. Armies (H) West III to Otto Luchs ((Oabzer Arny Africa, IC)):
Up to the present the following information is available concerning the army tank
(INF. Panz. Kampfwagen) Churchill, which was employed at Dieppe:

Armour:
 Front (vordeseite) 76 MM
 Sides (seistemteile) 64 MM.  Rear Front (Hinterfront) 51 MM.
Hollow Space Armour with 5 inc. Gap.
Armament:
 As in "Pocket Book of British Army."

Behaviour under fire: Of several hits by calibres up to 7.5 CM, only 2 (By 7.5 CM. Anti-tank gun)
penetrated at close range. Considerable effect on tracks, as they appear to be made of
brittle materials 3.7 and 4.7 CM anti-tank guns had no effect. No experience with 8.8 CM flak.
