On the threshold of the Po Valley, the Royal Engineers were faced with a task that would last until war's end, the construction of bridges over the many canals and rivers. The photograph is one of the two constructed over De Bonifica Destra to carry supplies to Cremona Brigade's regiments. A Bailey Bridge was built between the two to carry tanks.
