Churchill Bridging Equipment
Towards the end of March 1945, in anticipation of having to cross many canals and small rivers in the upcoming Spring Offensive, drivers practised crossing over 51st Royal Tank Regiment's Churchill Bridgelayers. The Mark IV seen crossing is one of 'C' Squadron's.

When a crossing was too wide for a Bridgelayer, Churchill ARKs were employed. The photograph is of Armagh, an 'A' Squadron Churchill Na75, crossing a double-stacker positioned by 51st RTR in northern Italy.
