Fellow Rovers,
As we go to press with this, our first edition of 1945, may we express what is the hope of us all - that one day of this New Year will see the Hun finally vanquished.
On behalf of the Mustangs we thank indeed all who have helped in the production of this magazine, with an especial big "thank you" to Sgt. Tom Hamilton who so ably taps the typewriter.
As Skipper tells us, our membership has increased making a total of 21 - a good round working number.
News from Harry McCalmont is that he spent 14 days leave at home over Christmas and has been promised that he will be hospitalised somewhere near his home - a speedy recovery to you Harry. We wish also a speedy recovery to Tom Gamble - last news received was that he was getting along favourably and hoped to be back with us before long.
Congratulations go out to Douglas ("Ibe") Knott who touched for leave in England - we wish you a very happy leave Ibe.
For the moment then chaps we will close, letting the following pages speak for themselves as adequate testimony that the Mustangs are alive and kicking.
Yours in Rovering,
Gerry
Afterthought:
If "Anon" will step around this way he will hear something to his advantage. |
