SKIPPER'S REVIEW
Since the last edition of our magazine the Crew has been quite active. Let me give you a short account of our activities.
At the beginning of December we were in a state of changing from a Patrol of A.M.8 to a fully blown Rover Crew. Having sorted ourselves out and taken stock, we started in real earnest.
First, as you know, we published our first magazine edited by our able scribe Gerry.
The idea of a Library for the use of 'B' Squadron (and later, we hope, the other Sqns.), has materialised and is now in operation. For further information see the Librarian's report.
The next effort we attempted was to arrange a quiz, comprising a team from 'B' Squadron and a team from the Mustangs. The result - 'B' Sqn. won the Tomlin Challenge Cup. A return quiz was held after the Christmas festivities and again the Sqn. retained the "Cup". Still, we hope that 'third time lucky' will be the result for the Mustangs in the near future. Both quizzes were ably conducted by Major Sidebottom and an excellent staff of assistants.
At the Crew meeting held just after Christmas we were given a most interesting talk on First Aid by the M.O.
Perhaps the most enjoyable time we have had for many a day was on New Year's Eve. Twelve of us went down to Ancona and spent a grand evening with some of the 1st Ancona Rover Crew in their Den. We hope that we shall have the opportunity to visit them again in the future.
During the month of December our membership has increased and we welcome Geoff Catton, Jimmy Creighton, Tom Martin, Lee Strong and Davy McNeilly of Montreal, Canada.
To all of you I wish a very Happy and Victorious New Year.
Ken
